Java is collection that began August 2012. It was on a trip to Costa Rica where I got a glimpse of how coffee was grown and harvested. Years later, one early morning curled up on my couch, I began to think how I struggled to do anything before having my cup of coffee. Every morning, I stumbled out of my bedroom, stumbled into the kitchen, turned on the coffee pot, and then sat on the couch brooding until I could have my coffee. I was amazed at how fast the pace of my thoughts changed with every sip, how one minute I couldn't bear the thought of functioning and then a few sips later, I slowly began to feel like I could execute an entire business plan in one day! It was a magical transformation every morning. Every morning, millions of people around the world have a similar routine. Make up, make coffee, and then go about the rest of your day. So this collection is a mix of new work, early 2022, work from other collections, to 2012. It's my perspective of coffee and what coffee means to me.
